Funda started her career in Edinburgh as an independent graphic designer working with a variety of SMEs, arts festivals, higher education institutions, charities and UK-based research centres. Most recently, before joining BrandSeers, she was the in-house designer for the Edinburgh College of Art, University of Edinburgh and was responsible for fully implementing and managing its new visual identity. Funda has a highly creative and thorough approach to her discipline, working across all aspects and stages of the design process; from research and concept development to production. In charge of all brand activation work at BrandSeers she has an extremely high level of experience in all aspects of production.
She graduated top of her class from Bilkent University with a BFA in Graphic Design and then went on to obtain an MFA with Distinction from the Edinburgh College of Art. She is a member of the International Society of Typographic Designers and her work is featured in the 3D Type Book, published by Laurence King.
After having lived in eight countries to date, Funda is equipped with a high level of intercultural competence. She calls Ankara her hometown, but considers herself to be a global citizen. Alongside Turkish, her mother tongue, she also has a native command of English and spent a year studying Italian.
Funda has a particular interest in hands-on image making techniques. She is BrandSeers internal photographer and printmaker, runs her own small home screenprinting studio and has even recently been producing her own photography light boxes.
In her free time she is marathon runner and climber – keeping her mind fresh and active for the next creative endeavor.
